Members
We have a wide variety of fiber artists in our group. Interests include sewing, quilting, knitting, weaving, spinning, tatting, bobbin lace, felting, embroidery, rug hooking, smocking and more. Some members sell their work, or have taught professionally, and others have done workshops for our group. We welcome new members at any of our meetings, and are always open to new ideas for workshops in the fiber arts field.
When and Where we meet
We meet regularly on the second Saturday of the month from 9:30AM until 11:30AM. Our meetings are usually held at the "Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic" building, 3500 Remson Ct (off of Greenbrier Dr.), Charlottesville (see: Map). Workshops often run longer and are sometimes held at another location, so it is best to check our schedule or call ahead for more information (434-293-9617), or email: charlottesvillefiberarts@gmail.com.

Other
Our members may also contribute to the community in many ways, including giving presentations in schools, working with youth groups, donating yarn or tote bags to charity, and demonstrating at craft fairs. We are always looking to try new crafts and techniques, and welcome new member ideas. Some of the workshops we've had in the past include lacemaking, bead weaving, velvet stamping, embellishing, quilling, silk painting, tamari balls, and papermaking. We also have a lot of show and tell at our meetings; if you're interested in either learning a craft or teaching, come and see what our members have been doing.
